Drove through Elizabethton, Shady Valley and Mountain City. It’s a twisty path through the mountains. Went up to Watauga Dam and Watauga lake. It’s gorgeous country. Before I got to the really twisty roads I did get a reminder of how dangerous these roads can be. There was a horrible wreck. They had Wings in to fly one out. The signs posted said Switchback roads. LOL. They meant turn around and kiss your hiney switchbacks.
