The patient with both dehydration and hyponatremia would have the signs and symptoms of dehydration with thirst being the initial symptom to present. This can be increasingly problematic for a patient suffering from hyponatremia if they attempt fluid replacement with water only which tends to add to the hyponatremia by further diluting the patients serum sodium levels

but 1. ataxia type-SYMPTOMS could be the right answer, since many of the elderly have a suppressed sense of thirst. confusion, loss of fine muscle control, balance problems, dizziness.??

Thirst is the body’s attempt to restore blood volume depletion that occurs in hyponatremia. Ataxia might be a sign of a neurological disorder. Hunger might be a sign of hypoglycemia. Weakness could be a sign of abnormal potassium levels or hypoglycemia.
